Chyawanprash is a 2,500-year-old Ayurvedic jam made with Amla (Indian gooseberry) as its base, combined with over 40 herbs and spices. Named after the sage Chyawan, who is said to have regained his youth through this preparation, it remains India's most popular daily health supplement.

Ingredients

  • Chyawanprash1-2 tsp

    Choose a reputable brand with Amla as primary ingredient

  • Warm milk0.5 cup

    Optional — can be taken directly

Preparation

Take 1-2 teaspoons directly or mix with warm milk. Best consumed on an empty stomach in the morning. Children (5+): 1/2 teaspoon daily. The taste is sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy.

Dosage Guidance

Adults: 1-2 teaspoons daily, morning on empty stomach. Children over 5: 1/2 teaspoon daily. Can be taken year-round but is especially beneficial during winter and monsoon seasons.
