Headaches have multiple causes in Ayurveda — Vata headaches tend to be throbbing and variable, Pitta headaches are sharp and heat-related, and Kapha headaches feel heavy and dull. This two-pronged approach uses a cooling peppermint compress externally and a warming ginger tea internally to address the most common tension and stress headaches. Research suggests that topical peppermint oil (menthol) can be as effective as acetaminophen for tension headaches. Ginger has demonstrated anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties comparable to sumatriptan in some migraine studies.

  • Fresh Ginger1 inch piece, sliced
